L ocated at the basement of 9 Monroe St, the space brings together artist-run and alternatively driven projects in a shared home for experimentation, gathering, and collective imagination. Established through a network of peers sourced by Living Skin to push the narrative of alternative spaces, Nine
houses rotating exhibitions, public programs, and community-centered activations. The four co- resident initiatives each hold distinct and independent approaches, while intersecting around values of care, attention, and transformation.

The curatorial partnership is dedicated to advancing critical dialogue around alternative curatorial and artistic practices, foregrounding experimentation as a vital force within contemporary art by supporting underrepresented perspectives, fostering interdisciplinary exchange, and connecting regional and metropolitan contexts. Nine functions as both a site of artistic experimentation and a hub for public engagement. The show unfolds the partners’ independent histories and continuing directions into one collective installation, introducing the partnership to the public.
